[iCreate 101] Altered Notebook

My brother knows that I like paper/notebooks, when he used to work at a car shop, he sent me a journal. It was actually a motoring journal that I think they give to their customers.

Ok I suck at taking before and during pictures. I was so excited that I worked on the project right away. So that's what it looked like before. there was this sort of plastic covering that's kinda peeling off.
I first covered the notebook with plain printer paper. After which I covered it it colored/embellished tissue.

It has some sparkles in it.
After covering it, that's when I started decorating it. Since I wanted it to be a sort of inspiration/idea book, what better way to keep me inspired than the picture of the guy i've been crushing on (hehehe).
Also, since the only embellishment I had lots of were flowers, I placed a lot.
This is how it turned out...

A little trivia on the "non-floral" embellishments. The multicored tape represents him and his bandmates. I call them my rainbow colored happiness. The fishes, since he loves to fish and the anchor goes to follow that he loves the sea. The key is a tribute to his just concluded drama "The Locked Room Mysteries"

So there you have it, my first altered project... more to come... I hope!!

[Tutorial] Recycled Filebox.... and the giveaway winner

I had some old boxes lying around and wanted to put them into good use, so I made myself some file boxes for my paper stash.

holds my 6x6 papers

Let me show you how I made it...

What I used:

~ old boxes cut into the following sizes:
            a. 2 pieces 6 3/4 x 6 1/2
            b. 2 pieces 6 3/4 x  3
            c. 1 piece 2 3/4 x 3
    ~ Glue Gun
    ~ Wrapping Paper
    ~ Plain colored paper
    ~ Ribbon

Once you have all the box pieces take the smallest piece and measure the height on one side of the large piece.

Then cut diagonally... see picture below

Then use the glue gun to connect the boxes. It should look like this...

Then with some wrapping paper, cover your box...

Cover the insides with plain , solid colored paper. I cut it just a little bit smaller the the size of my box pieces. A little secret... I did not cover the bottom part :).
Then add a ribbon around the box and tie it in front.

You can decorate it anyway you want...

     I made a bigger one to hold my 8.5 x 11 paper....

Onto to the Winner of the giveaway...

RYKA!!!!

     Please check your email...

Until next time...

Happy Birthday Kazu...

Because of an incident in the fandom a few years ago, I  gave up celebrating his birthday.  For me, celebrating it would mean opening up old wounds.  Celebrating it would only remind me of the hurt and betrayal the person I once considered a friend,  has inflicted upon me.  However, I realized that me getting hurt is not reason enough not to enjoy/celebrate the birthday of the boy (take note I consider him a boy even though he is turning 29 on the 17th) I had hoped my future, non-exixtent son would be like.
So to celebrate his birthday, I made something, it's not actually a card, so I'll call it a personalized notecard. i had a few of his pictures lying around so I decided to spruce it up with some board, ribbon and patterned paper.

Here's the first one that I made...

And here's the second one. I love this picture

Now onto something much better. I'm actually GIVING AWAY the sticker set that came with their last calendar.

But that's not all... I'm throwing in a few magazine clippings and the Notecards I made. And who knows, I might throw in a few pictures...

[iCreate 101] Arashi Paper Dolls

I've mentioned in my welcome post that I'm into Japanese stuff and one of them is the idol group Arashi.  Although I want to elaborate more on the band, it might take me a looooonnngggg time to finish 'coz once I start talking about them, I can't seem to stop.
However, just to briefly introduce them, here goes...

From left to right. Kazunari Ninomiya, Jun Matsumoto, Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai & Masaki Aiba

Arashi is a Japanese idol group under the Management group Johnny & Associates. They are composed of Satoshi Ohno,  Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Kazunari Ninomiya & Jun Matsumoto.  They not only sing and hold concerts but they also dabble in acting. Be it in dramas, movies or stage plays.

Ok, I'm going to stop there or it might take me forever...
So on to my craft for the week.  I've been seeing these Arashi paper dolls mostly in tumblr and the crafter in me wanted to try it. I spent an entire night trying to look for templates and I only got hold of 1 set. But since the doll that I wanted to make wasn't part of the template that I got, I continued to search until I saw one that I liked but the template wasn't up for download... So emailed the blog author and she gladly gave me the template... AND MORE!!! now I can't wait to do all of the dolls...
For now, here are the ones that I made...
Satoshi Doll (Truth PV series)

Sho-kun  (Solo Taboo)

     Here's both of them together...

Dada & My HD
Can't wait to make the next one... hmmm maybe I'll do Kageyama... :)
